HIB and Stephanie:

Thanks for visiting. I have to say though that your comments have made me envious. I so much want to have less space and less stuff to worry about. Hopefully, that can be soon.

Two years ago, when our youngest went to college (we also have two out on their own) we moved from a four bedroom boomer house to a small city rowhome. We sold about 4/5 of our 'stuff' and completely downsized. It has been a great experience and we enjoy living with less, caring for less, and we do not have to mow! Without kids to worry about, we are also enjoying the benefits of city life, restaurants, shows, etc. And, sometimes we don't even get in our car all weekend, everything is so close!

Nice article! I have family that was in a similar situation about 10 years ago. They opted to go from a large house with a large yard a pool to a town home. They didn't want to hassle with a yard and have less upkeep in general. They have 3 small dogs, but the HOA takes care of everything on the outside of the town home as well as the structure. Perhaps, this might be an option for you guys down the road. Then again, it's always nice to have room for people to visit!
