Working after you collect social security benefits sounds good, but it not all good.. if you are traveling or living overseas, my understanding that you can only work 45 hours a month, any more any you all of your benefits. 45 hours a month is nothing. From what I have gathered this would apply to any type of work including volunteer work and does not matter how much income you make, it is only the hours that count. so if I help a school teach children in Thailand and maybe a get a room and for (all together worth a 100 us, I lose my entire social security check? really?) or if I decide to work in a shop making hardly anything in a country like India, maybe 200 a months if I am lucky, again I lose my entire social security check? This make no sense at all to me..
