I tried to delay taking my Social Security. Had a job until January that provided me with full benefits. However, when I turned 65 in January, I was laid off. Not sure if it was due to my age or if the company really was hurting in this economy. Now, I'm in a situation where I can't find work due to so many being out of work. I had to take my SS benefits but I wanted to work at least another year or so. I'm not walking with a cane yet and feel I have a lot to offer but it seems like age is a consideration. I am hoping to take something part time but find that those who have lost full time work make even this solution impossible.
