Boomer Travel and Airline Bag Fees

I hate what the airlines are doing with bag fees in a desperate attempt to remain profitable. Only Southwest Airlines is holding the line on these fees so it will continue as my airline of choice.

< New travel and bag fees are being added so fast it is hard to keep up. Orbitz is trying to keep things organized with this handy updated chart showing bag and meal fee policies for all of the major airlines.

So if you can’t pack lightly enough to do carry-on only, or if you can’t fly Southwest, be sure to check the chart to avoid surprises.

Speaking of surprise fees, note that some airlines charge more if you wait until you arrive at the airport to pay the bag fee. They want you to pay the fee ahead of time.  Ridiculous.

Also note that the bag fees apply each way on a round-trip flight.

Bag fees: Yet another reason for us to downsize and simplify our lives.

Pleasant traveling!
